Social Media

I still remember the days when I joined the google plus. I was in the college and got a new phone. I was getting bored and I saw this preinstalled app on my phone. I tried to learn it but failed. But, as soon as I started visiting it more and more, I learned more about it and in few days, I was able to connect with other people as well. Unlike Facebook, where you can connect only with the people who live around you or the ones whom you know in your real life, here I can be friend with anyone and it gave me a chance to connect with people who were like-minded.

The story goes on and I made some really amazing friends there, not only all over India but all over the globe. I never thought I could befriend with someone from America or Europe but now I do have those friends who know me as much as the friends in real life. All this came to reality as we were like-minded.

I have met many people in this duration and noticed many things. People get in touch with you, start sharing their things and you too share your things and friendship goes stronger. No daily meetings, night outs or anything needed. Just a text and you're with them. This gives you more time to do your daily life chores as well as to be your friends as well. For introvert people, it is quite hard to talk to strange people and make new friends, but on social media, I have found that these are the people who express themselves in the kindest way.

Everything seems to go fine until one of us start sharing the same bond with other people too. The other person feels betrayed. Many argue that internet friendship is not real but I do not agree. I have so many "Internet friends" as I have mentioned earlier and that's the proof. Modern lifestyle and the hectic schedule don't allow us to have much social life in real life. It is when you can use your phone to stay connected with your friends. Many people feel down and depressed. They feel lonely and can't help themselves as they have issues with real life. For such people, social media is a real blessing. They can share their problems and more importantly, they can find people who would actually listen and might help them to deal with their issues.

Not every time the social media have positive impacts. Many a time, people get bullied for their behaviour on social sites. People accuse and harass them. But, it is a lot easier to deal with such crap there as you can block them. In some cases, people don't know how to deal with such situations and it makes their mental life worse. People start judging you from the things you post there without doing any efforts to know the whole matter. You receive more criticism than appreciation. You have to learn how to deal with it.

Social media has its own cons and pro. Nowadays, we rely more on social media for information and news. Not all the time the information we get on the social media is correct. It is hard to believe some sources of information. Sometimes, even the newspaper agencies believe whatever is getting attention on the social media platforms and that is when the case got worse. You should be aware of what is happening over the internet and what sources should be believed.

Making friends is indeed fun. Having someone in life who cares for you, who talk to you when no one does and who listen to you really great. The social media has two sides. You have to balance them. For fun, it is good but on the other side, it may ruin your part of life. Social media addiction is also one of the things to worry about. Well, it is okay as long as you look after yourself even on the social media.

P.S. May I request everyone that instead of making "April Fool" on 1st April, plant at least one tree and make "April Cool"! This small campaign of your's may help to make this earth "Cool". (From WhatsApp)

New Beginnings!

Hello friends!

How are you all? Its been a while since I have posted my last update on the blog but nevermind, due to hectic schedule and work, I was not able to write many things here. You too would have been busy studying or working. Getting busy is obvious for everyone, isn't it? Let's cut it short and come to the main topic.

Most of my friends with whom I talk on daily/weekly basis would have the idea about this. After graduating from engineering college, a friend of mine told me to join him. I did and we got involved with our new startup called "Recycler" which deals with Plastic waste and turning it into valuable products. This was just an idea last year and we started researching about it everywhere. I would leave that startup part behind as startup itself is a great topic to talk about.

So, finally we got incubated at this university known as PDPU in Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat and that's when I had a fresh start. I'm not an outspoken person and I had never worked before for anyone. It was a whole new chapter in my life. Unlike normal jobs, the startup doesn't work the way conventional companies work.  It includes odd jobs and most of the things were new to me as if I was a school kid.

I started learning new things, exploring vast pool of knowledge. I got to know about plastic industries, how people work in here, the problems being faced by the people, how startup ecosystem works and many more such things. On a personal level, I joined a course for Diploma in Product Desing and taught myself engineering design software like AutoCAD and Solidworks. But, startup never works in one way!! That's when I had to teach myself some graphic designing as well.

I have learned about Photoshop, CorelDraw, Illustrator etc. It is so fun experience to learn all such new things where you can create awesome pictures, edit them and make something wonderful out of it. Also, I got my hands on documentation, company registration, patents and some legal stuff about companies and how such enterprises run as I am supposed to be a part of one such company one day.

Cutting things short, I never knew something new could lead me to such an amazing experience. Some days were hard and some were fun, but most importantly, I got a whole new level of experience and got to realize that I can do much more.

Life is all about new beginnings and how you take you take yourself on the new road. It is never too late to turn around if you realize that you're walking the wrong path. Dare to do new things, try something new every day. It can be a small thing like trying your hands on painting or a big thing like starting your own business. If you succeed, it will give you the courage to more such adventures and who knows, you might reach the sky one day!

As I have mentioned earlier in my last post, in the new year, start something you've always wanted to learn, to explore, to experience. The happiness and joy you'd feel afterwards will be incredible.

P.S. As i write the most of the content for my work as a part of my job, I'll try to post more posts here.

Keep smiling :)

Why should you write?

Have you ever wonder why did you start writing? Or if you're not a writer, why should you start writing?

I'm not here to teach you what to write and how to write as i, myself, do not know what should i be writing! Funny, isn't it? I started writing because back then, i had attraction to these blog things, being an inspiration for someone and having your own blog. Soon, i understood it takes too much effort to write something creative, something which you can say your own written stuff.

What i write is no creative stuff but i just pen down my own thoughts. Thoughts about my own life, about problems i see around myself and their solutions i think of. I don't post any of them here, though. :D

There are so many advantages of writing. Once you start penning down your thoughts, you would see, how much of your thoughts worth it, where your mind is going and what you should do. It gives a clear picture of what you're thinking and how you can change the way you think. This is how, you can develop your personality. Writing makes you think about other people's perspective, their views and thoughts.

If you're not writing, start writing. Not to post on social media, or on your blog if you owe one, but for yourself. Start writing on your phone, on your personal diary, or wherever you find it suitable to write.

If you think you're a good writer and can write well, go on and post those creation on your social media and ask people to check it. This will help you gain confidence in yourself. This will not only you but to your readers as well.

Penning down your thoughts can decrease your mental stress and improve your health. It can help you fight mental illness and depression.

How much you should write?
There is no limit for it as long as you're not doing it for content writing. Write when you feel like. Two lines, a paragraph or three pages long article. It solely up to you.

In the beginning, you would feel giving up but trust me, it will become one of your best habit one day. If you feel like quitting, think of the reason why you started. If you can start it, you definitely continue it.

Give yourself a reason. Do it for yourself, for your inner-self. If you can't find a reason, create one and start writing.

Besides reading, i feel, writing is the most creative thing i know and follow. I'm not an expert as i too am learning it.

The purpose behind writing this is to inspire young minds to write more. Another thing, it's been a very long time since I've posted anything on my blog. I'm doing this for my dying blog also. Hopefully, I'll try to post more on it from now onward.

Keep writing, keep reading and keep smiling.

P.S.  There are still 23 days left for the new year. Start a new habit in this year to make it count in the list of achievements for 2017. ;)

Education, Exam & Life

Hello, folks!! Missed me?
I missed my Google+ followers, my fellow blogger friends and some interesting incidents that might happen when I was gone. But, today I won’t make you feel bored with my stupid thoughts about what I did and blah blah.

Yeah, it’s been a long, very long time since I have written anything here. I was kind of busy with my college work but now I do have some time to restart my blog and to write something that I really wanted to share with you.

As this is the month of March, if you lives in India it is the month of final exams for the student of class/grade 10th and 12th (equals to Diploma and/or +2). Students, parents and moreover their other family members too are worried about these so called "Board exams" as it will affect their dream career. For the 10th-grade student, it will decide which stream he is going into, and for the 12th-grade student, it will decide the college/university and it have to be a good one as it eventually brings students one step closer towards their dream academic career.

P.C. :- Google

In news, on social media and everywhere, you would have seen everyone wishing them luck and giving tips about how to react to this exams, how to overcome the stress and much more such type of questions. Every year, we create a hype that it's "Board exam". We generally advise students to concentrate and focus on their study. But what about them? Do they really want to study the whole day or few hours in a row? Is it really necessary?

We look at exams if it is some kind of devil. Students hate it. Parents hate it more. When I told people that I love exams, they stare at me as if I have told them some offensive word. Waking up all the night just to remember those boring years, boring(!) history and then stupid (!?) science and geeky mathematics!! I always find every subject interesting. We find exams boring but right now, I want to talk about those questions and not exams. I am promising myself to write a whole post about exams. Now, let's go back to the question.

No! It's not. If a student doesn't want to study and if he doesn't want to read his textbooks, no one can make him read it. Parents/teachers can only make him sit with a textbook. His mind won't pay any attention to the words he is reading. Rather, it would wander around thinking about his last dream he saw that night or to the sound of the song playing nearby. And this is not just limited to it. Parents think it would provide a good and peaceful atmosphere to their son to read if they snatch his phone and cut the cable connection from TV for that period. Okay fine! They too sacrifice their urge to watch a TV but the point is they don't let their son/daughter free time to do his favourite activity. They are afraid of their son getting distracted.

Also, students pressurise themselves by thinking of what they would do they get fewer marks. They try to read more but can't concentrate properly. And at some point, they feel tired of reading. They need extra activities that can refresh their mood. It's when parents start thinking that their son is not studying. He just wants to spend time on social media and talking to friends over WhatsApp/Facebook. He doesn't care about their efforts and don't respect them. While in real, the scene is so different.

P.C. :- Google

Sometimes, students also are at fault. They get wrong motivations from internet memes and quotes made only for fun. They start believing it just to manipulate themselves only. Education is necessary and when you don't have anything beforehand, it can help you achieve your goals. There are many examples of the great businessman, entrepreneur and such big personalities who once don't have anything.  They made it by themselves. But, the key point is while looking at their picture, we only look at the brighter side. We only look at their today's position. We forget to see the dark side.

I asked few of my friends who are really good at killing time (yes, the kill time) why they don't study. We got into a debate and then suddenly they got this excuse that looking at the list of richest people of the word, you'd find half of them as college dropouts. Okay, fine! They are college dropouts but have you look at their careers? They left colleges because they already have found their passion and their way to fulfil their dreams. They were the best at some unique field and that's what made them who they are today.

Wrong Motivation!

Parents get worried if their son got fewer marks in an exam but it's legit. Everyone wants their children to be super rich and successful in life cause that's how we have imagined a happy and well-satisfied life. And when it comes to this Board exam, they'll definitely get more worried about it. But take it easy, parents!! If your son has passed so many exams with good marks as he has done before. Trust him like you did it before! He just wants you by his side and I am sure he will prove that to you. Not every student can top the rank list. If your son gets good marks, congrats him and tell him, well done! But in case, he fails to achieve what you were expecting, encourage him instead of scolding. This is the time when he will need you the most. Stay by his side and

Dear students, I know, your parents have so many expectations from you. They want you to be the topper of your school. But, only you know how much you can achieve. Don't lie to them and not to yourself as well. Try to give your one hundred percent and don't worry about the results. If you will give your one hundred percent, no one can beat you. This is not the final exam. You've faced so many exams before and you'll face many others in the future. It's just a simple exam but keep in mind to motivate yourself that this can let you fulfil your dream one day. If you get good marks, the journey ahead will be more fun. In case you don't get good marks, there are so many options. You need not worry about it but it would take a lot of courage to go through those options.

Good luck students for the exams and good luck to the parents :)

P.S.
It's been a year and more since I have written something for my blog. This post might have grammatical mistakes. If you find any such mistakes, you can tell me in the comment section. Thank you for reading.

Keep reading, keep writing and enjoy every moment :)

Friendship for Life : Suddenly it started to matter.

Friendship and friends are the things everyone is aware of. We can't find a person who doesn't have a friend. And friendship is a subject on which a person can write hundreds of pages. Some friends are those whom we know since childhood. We make some more friends in school and college. We get friends from where we spend working on are extra-curricular activities, because we have same interests. This is an old story when there was no internet. Nowadays most of us, not everyone, uses internet and are involved with one or the other social sites where we can find other people having the same interest as us. Beyond all that, now there are many online games available and you can chat there too. After a hectic day in office or having a boring day at school ( for me, it's always fun though) all of us wants to relax but in this busy life, we can't have time to go out on a walk or for movie everyday but internet is always there in your pocket, my friend. Just a click and we can meet our friends on our screen and also talk to them by tapping the screen. You can play games for killing your precious time or for relaxing ourselves and having fun.

I was getting bored because I was having holidays and no one was there to talk to. At that time, I saw one of my friends playing a game called "Clash of clan". Don't worry; it's not an action game like the name sounds. It is a strategy based game. I was interested in it and so I installed that game on my phone and start playing it. It was really fun to play the game. The amazing thing about the game is you've to make a team or clan to participate in a war where you can attack any of the opponent clan member's village. To win the war, you have to discuss with your clan member about your strategy and preparation. But before that, you should have a good clan with active people in it. I forgot to mention that there is a public chat too, where you can chat with some other people who are already having a clan or are looking for members for their clan or are looking for clans. I was looking for members for my clan and then I met another fellow mate  whose name was Lena. We talked about our villages and discussion about wars and this is how, it started. After that, I bookmarked her clan and joined the same with another account for the game. Yes, I was crazy for the game at that time and was having 3 accounts before. So I joined her clan and talked to her about the war and all that. But then as we got to each know other, we started discussing about life and all things. She is an old lady and a working woman from Sweden. Her son is also there in our clan and now that I am there for about a year, I told her about my blog. She joined Google plus and I told her to share her experience there.  So she wrote something about us, about our friendship and about how someone's life can get changed with just a simple game and I can't resist myself to share it here on my blog. But before you read what she wrote, I'd like to thank her. +Lena Åslund  Thank you so much for writing this.

It began as an ordinary game. I have played games since Nintendo 8bits and have always enjoyed playing games. So, when my son asked if I could play the game he was playing and I thought I could  give it a try.
The game was not unlike the other games I've played before. It involved building up our world/village, attacking and waring against other players and many more different things. There is a chat box where you can chat with others and I joined a group of people called clan in the game. As I love to play games, I was getting better pretty fast and I got to explore the game so I could enjoy all of it while playing. The part I like the most was the chat box.  When I started to play, I tried the world wide chat and found some friends. We are all in the same group. As in real life, there are lots of different people around us and if you take your time to listen, you find your own diamonds, those are our real friends.
At one point I realised that it has become more than just a game. I started to miss my friends if they weren't online; I would be really curious of how the day would have been for them and wanted to share mine too. Like in real life, you have the people around you that you love to talk to and some become real close friends to us. At the beginning, I was joking about cartoon friends but friendship is not cartoon at all. We laughed at each other’s jokes, talk about serious stuff and ask each other for advice. If something happens or is happening, it is always nice to tell my online friends as well, and if I would be thinking of something I could always ask them for an opinion, knowing that I'd have an honest response back and with the friends of different ages and different countries, I can get a different response that I'd might not have thought myself. All those things that happen around you happen even in a game chat. There were many instances where the people had lost their relatives or had gone through some problem or the other. And at that point of time, we learnt to support each other.  The game became less important and the friendship would matter the most and that was why I logged into the game often.  What I've learnt is that friendship is what matters and you never know where and when you'll meet a new important person in your life. Take time to find your own diamonds. It just takes some of your time to get a future mate, but they’ll remain maybe for life. And you'll have a better life for sure if you're open to other people's stories and if you share yours with them.

Our clan; our team. You guys can see our names there :))

Life goes on offline of course but with online friends you've another dimension to things. You meet new people that you never would have met in real life. Distance is one reason. And with mixed region and different home countries you have something magic. Take care and I hope you all will have good friends like those that I've met in last two years.

Guest Post : 1

It's been a while, i haven't posted any new article here. But thanks to my friend +gaurav pandey  who was there to help me with this. He wrote something for my blog and I'm going to publish it as a guest post. The following is the article written by Gaurav. I'd like to thank +Sunita Behera  for editing this article before i post it. Now, below is the article. Read it and don't forget to give your reviews in the comment :)

In our life, god has blessed us with everything we need.
We can use these things to its fullest only when they are used as per their requirement.

In history, it is known that whenever there is an excessive use of any resources, it leads to destruction. Whether it is an atom bomb which has been basically created to generate electric power, or a computer virus which has been generated for the goodness of the program, both are now being used against it. The food is necessary as it contains the vitamins, proteins, essential carbohydrates and minerals for our body, but excessive use of these leads to diseases. Like we study in Biology, excessive contamination of vitamin C leads to a skin disease called scurvy.
Hence the simplest thing is that natural or man made things have their own importance in the world and its advantage can only be taken when it is being used according to its necessity.
Now to decide whether these things are good or bad depends on us. Don't see things from the world's point of view. Most of the times, we believe the rumors and the talks which are being spread by others. Like if someone suggests that a particular cream is good for any disease, without consulting a doctor or specialist, we start using it and we become our own doctor. And in many cases, this leads to infection to other body parts and the person has to be admitted in the hospital.
From childhood, we have been taught that tobacco/cigarette or drinks are bad but did we ever care to look for its advantages? Maximum of us don't. Well they must have some advantages which are why, they exist in this world.
The advantages of cigarettes are that
Smoking lowers risk of knee-replacement surgery
2. Smoking lowers risk of Parkinson's disease
3. Smoking lowers risk of obesity
4. Smoking helps the heart drug clopidogrel work better
You can even google the answers to get vast knowledge about it.
The point is that if these things are used as per their requirement they will not be in the hazardous thing's list. So we should have our point of view and not of others and have good view of every small thing. We always talk about perception and views of our own but most of the time; we never apply them except for few things. Stop walking on other's road and create your own path. Believe me, it's fun. :)
Thank you.

Learning: A process

From the very first day we are born, we start to learn different things. We learn how to sit, how to stand up and eventually how to walk. We also learn how to speak the words and then sentences. By just observing our parents and the people around us, we learn our mother tongue so easily. We listen to them and see their reactions. What I am trying to say is that learning is a continuous process.

From the day we came on to this earth to the day we'd leave this world, we'd have been learned thousands of things. Human mind is always keen to know something new and is always curious about new things which he wants to learn. Whatever we observe in our day to day life, our mind analysis all the things and remembers everything. But after some days, we forget about it. Here comes practice and revision.

For long term memory, you need to do things again and again. For example, if you're playing a new game, it takes few minutes to get used to it. During that time, our mind learns how to play it. For perfection, practice is necessary. We have often felt difficulty with the things we do after many days. That's why repetition is must. Same applies for the study too. Most of us are students and we know that very well. But don't worry; I'm not going to get you bored by discussing it here.

Now, back to the point, learning is a must for anyone. We all know that but we don't feel it. We do learn things eventually and have no idea about it. These are some basic things which we learn by just observing others and we become habituated to it. But we also should learn something which can be related to our passion and hobbies. That is why we say no one Is a born genius who knows everything right from their birth.

Many of us are afraid of learning new things. Most of the time, it's because we don't want to get pointed out for doing the wrong or fear of being judged. Some are afraid because they think that it's not their age to learn something. To learn anything, there is no age limit. Be enthusiast and keep learning new things. It will help us to enjoy the life. Every little thing we do; is a part of learning process.

We always want to learn something but we don't have time for it. But in this digital era, you can easily learn anything by using internet. Learn the things you want and enjoy your journey. Keep learning, keep enjoying. Do try different things in life. That's what makes our life interesting.

I love cooking and I'm learning how to cook. What's your passion and what makes you feel happy? Find it out and start learning it. Right now is the time to learn something, to do something for you.

Keep learning :)
